„The apt is well equipped and the view from the terrace is beautiful. However, several issues did not make our stay enjoyable, above all the fact that there were no mosquito nets on the windows although the place was infested with biting insects. Given that there is no air conditioning, one would expect the owner to have taken some alternative measures to prevent guests to be tortured as my son literally was: On one morning, he woke up with over 100 bites on his body, 30 of which on his face alone. After complaining with Gites the France, we were offered an insulting 22 euro compensation (5% of the total amount we had paid) which wouldn't even have paid for the medicaments. They dismissed the issue by saying that the presence of mosquito in the region is not the owner's responsibility. Of course it isn't but it IS one host's responsibility to guarantee the safety of their guests! Less worrying but likewise annoying, several items in the bathroom were broken or not working properly: The stopper in the basin wouldn't go up, which meant the only way we could use the sink was by having the stopper turned upside down. The soap dish in the shower fell onto our feet soon after we had put a shampoo bottle on it. On top of all, as we turned on the water we heard a shrill whistle which would not stop until we turned it off again, which made us have the shortest showers possible. One more thing about our arrival: We meant to check in at 6 pm, but this was not possible as the concierge was not available at that time and we had to change our plans and have dinner in town.“
