HISTORISCHES GEBÄUDE UNTERHALB DER BURG
Inmitten der schmalen und teils verkehrsbefreiten Gassen des alten Dorfzentrums liegt die Casa La Rocca in einem typischen süditalienischen Steinhaus des letzten Jahrhunderts. Über die original erhaltene Steintreppe im Inneren des Gebäudes erreicht man den Eingang der Wohnung im 1. Stock. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich eine zweite Ferienwohnung.
Direkt im Eingangsbereich der Casa La Rocca befindet sich eine Gästetoilette sowie der Zugang zu den beiden Schlafzimmern der Wohnung. Ein Blickfang beim Betreten der Wohnung ist ebenso die blaue Treppe aus Stahl, die in das Dachgeschoss führt, in dem der Wohnbereich mit offener Küche untergebracht ist.
DAS ETWAS ANDERE BADEZIMMER-KONZEPT
Besondere Aufmerksamkeit ziehen weniger die zwei gemütlichen Doppelschlafzimmer als die jeweils zu den Zimmern gehörenden Badezimmer auf sich. Mit Ausnahme der Toiletten sind diese in die Zimmer integriert. Im Schlafzimmer mit Zugang zu einer der beiden Terrassen befindet sich direkt die große begehbare Duschkabine.
Im zweiten Schlafzimmer befindet sich unterhalb des Fensters mit Bergblick eine große Badewanne in moderner Betonoptik sowie, ein wenig versteckt, eine separate Dusche. Ein Hingucker ist auch das freistehende Waschbecken im Zimmer.
Beide Schlafzimmer sind klimatisiert und mit einem Fernseher ausgestattet.

PARKEN, EINKAUFEN, WANDERN
Für einen Aufenthalt in Rocca Cilento empfiehlt sich ein PKW, der ca. 90 m von der Wohnung entfernt an der Straße oder am Dorfplatz geparkt werden kann. Der nächste Supermarkt befindet sich im ca. 2 km entfernten Torchiara.
In Rocca Cilento selbst gibt es ein Restaurant im Ort sowie eines auf der Burg, das nach vorheriger Reservierung besucht werden kann. Gleiches gilt für die schicke Sunset Bar auf dem Burggelände.
Zum Baden fährt man in der Regel nach Agropoli, wo die Baia di Trentova besonders empfehlenswert ist. Ein Tipp ist Rocca Cilento für passionierte Wanderer, Naturfreunde und Ruhesuchende. HISTORIC BUILDING BELOW THE CASTLE
In the midst of the narrow and partly car-free alleys of the old village center, Casa La Rocca is found in one of the typical southern Italian stone houses of the last century. An original stone staircase inside the building takes you to the entrance of the apartment on the 1st floor. There's another holiday apartment on the ground floor.
Casa La Rocca covers two floors. A half-bath as well as the two bedrooms are located on the entrance level. A blue steel staircase, which catches your eye immediately upon entering the apartment, runs from the entrance area up to the living area with sofa, dining furniture and kitchen unit on the attic floor.
A SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT BATHROOM CONCEPT
The two double bedrooms, both with air conditioning and TV, are cozy, but the concept of their "en suite" bathrooms is really stunning. Except for the toilets, they are integrated into the rooms. In the bedroom which opens onto one of the two terraces (ca. 12 m²), it is a large walk-in shower.
In the second bathroom, there's a large bathtub in modern concrete-style look below the window with mountain view and, a bit hidden away, a separate shower. Also a bit of an eye-catcher: the free-standing washbasin in the room.
NATURAL MATERIALS AND HANDCRAFTED FURNITURE
When redesigning Casa La Rocca, the owner placed great emphasis not only on a design with clear lines, but also on craftsmanship as well as the quality of the building materials and furnishings. His aim was to create a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for guests spending their holidays at the apartment.
Exposed stone walls add a special touch to the rooms, a touch which in the living area is complemented by chestnut wood beams on the ceiling. The large floor-to-ceiling windows/French doors on the attic floor let in a lot of light and enable you to admire the beautiful panorama from almost everywhere in the room.
By the way, the high-quality sofa in the living area can be turned into a comfortable bed for a possible fifth person.
From the attic floor, you have got access of a ca. 40 m², furnished terrace, which opens upon a view of the lower part of Rocca Cilento and, behind Casa La Rocca, of the castle located on a rise. In the distance, you can see the Cape of Palinuro and the sea. The castle is an approximately 5-min. walk from the accommodation.
Casa La Rocca also features: induction cooktop, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine; WiFi, SAT-TV (only in the living area); washing machine.
PARKING, SHOPPING, HIKING
When vacationing at Rocca Cilento, you are well-advised to have a car at your disposal, which you can park about 90 m from the accommodation, either along the road or in the village square. The nearest supermarket is located at Torchiara (ca. 2 km).
At Rocca Cilento, there's one restaurant in the village and one in the castle. For the latter, advance reservation is required, which also goes for the chic Sunset Bar on the castle grounds.
For a swim in the sea, you usually go to Agropoli and there in particular to Baia di Trentova. The village of Rocca Cilento is a great tip for passionate hikers, nature lovers and people seeking peace and quiet. There are several trails you can reach directly from Casa La Rocca, including the loop trail in Valle dei Mulini.
