„Gorgeous Auvergne view from terrace and rural location. Very well adapted for disabled user, wet room bathroom, every comfort and good kitchen, although a few sharp knives would have been good (or a knife sharpener). 20 mins drive to St. Germain l'Herm for good little supermarket, bakery as well as restaurant with traditional cuisine (le Pré Fleuri). Also within 30 - 45 minutes drive of stunning towns and churches - Brioude, Issoire, Chaise-Dieu etc. ONE COMPLAINT: The steep slope up to the rear of the house - where there is a flat surface and easy access for unloading, wheelchair etc. is really TOO STEEP for a normal wheelchair user and for a wheelchair pusher who is not of olympic standard (!). You really MUST warn guests that the slope is very steep, except for a car. This is a severe restriction if you want to go out for a walk from the house with the wheelchair and without using the car. Why not negotiate with the neighbour to incorporate the driveway to the rear of their house to create a more gradual, less steep slope to allow direct wheelchair access to the gîte from the road? Surely not too much to ask? We would come back if you did this! Otherwise we had a great holiday and the place is exceptionally beautiful.“
